This is to inform the general public, that whoever has this mobile number 08141903067 registered in his name is a fraudster or a member of a fraudulent syndicate.
I received the message below yesterday the 18th of April, 2016 and decided to play along.
I placed a call to the number as advised, and a man's voice came up on the other side of the line.
I reported the text message I received and a conversation ensued.
The man asked for confirmation that I am BVN compliant, the particular bank where I carried out the BVN registration, the number of bank accounts I operate, whether my ATM card is Master, Visa or Verve, and funny enough my account balance too.
I claimed to run two bank accounts, Eco Bank and GT Bank but the BVN registration was actually done at Eco Bank. I claimed I use a verve card and I had a little above Four Hundred Thousand Naira in the account.
The man now requested for my Verve card number and as soon as I started with 3020.... , he cut me short and told me the number is supposed to start with "5" but I insisted mine starts with "3", the man just threw me an insult and hung up, while I had myself a good laugh.
I guess he got to know he's just been served.
I presume that this mobile number must be registered with its network provider in line with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) mandate since it is able to receive calls.
Thus the network provider should be able to identify this number (08141903067) and its registered user.
I hope they would be able to run a check and subsequently hand this fraudster over to the authorities.
Kindly continue sharing this and any of such fraudulent mobile numbers till it gets to the network provider and appropriate authorities.
