Unchangeable God!

"Unchangeable God, Unchangeable God, Unchangeable God, Unchangeable God..... "

You must know this song as even a "Sunday Sunday medicine Christian". It's common.

Again, sometimes I sit down to wonder about God. The thoughts are usually awesome but the easiest way to go to "psychia" is to wonder about how God came to be as a God! The Holy Books have not helped matters in this regard - telling our internet age children that God was there from "the beginning".

So,  when was the beginning?

So many things to think about God and this has kept many even revolting to the point of being "free thinkers" or out-rightly not believing.

Again, everything centering around the Middle East, for both major religions, has kept people wondering why. Why was it not Awka? 😊

As a writer, you must think. You just have to think.

As a writer, you must get into trouble by the views you express sometimes except you don't have an enlightened audience that also thinks. People "wey dem mumu never do"😊

The worst thing that can happen to you as a writer is "to fight" someone who took time to read your "limited views" and tried to express his. He didn't have to read it. There are actually so many things flying around waiting to be read. So many!

So, a writer must be courteous even in the face of someone trying to controvert your "limited views". It's at best "limited". You're not God and can never therefore play "all knowing".

In the course of training to write, I have raised "touchy issues" about Religion generally and Christianity in particular. The "Dogmas" and certain church cultures.

I have got inputs like:
*Don't you think you will lead people astray?
*You either choose to be a Catholic and accept it all or you're not.

I kept feeling there is something wrong with especially the second position above.

Dogma did not drop from heaven. People made them out of thinking and they are at best "temporary beliefs and rules" that can be changed once people come up with superior thoughts and arguments.
There are even "Archdiocesan localised Dogma" even within a particular Christian faith. And one is expected in the 21st century to "take it or leave it".

It won't work with our internet age children. It had better make sense or they simply "do their laundry on Sundays", like many of them do now😊

Except we're saying God is not "sensible and just autocratic".

The interesting thing is that even Priests today are questioning so many beliefs and actually changing them.

"Okoto okwu aduro n'uka mgbede" - there is no too much talk during evening Mass or service has always been the popular belief.

But yesterday in my church in Abuja, there was "okoto okwu n'uka mgbede". We stretched it from 5pm till almost 7.45pm. But it was worth it.

A young Priest and you need to hear him!

"When I came from my village to Abuja,  I observed some changes in our beliefs and practices that actually made me say 'this is it. this one makes sense'.  From where I came,  there was a rule that the church must not wed a pregnant woman. I came to Abuja and saw pregnant women being wedded. And I simply thought it made sense. Any rule we make in church must be such that should draw people to God instead of chase them away from God. You tell someone you won't wed her because she has 'eaten the forbidden fruit',  so she goes to abort to get on with the wedding. So by trying to punish her for one sin, you lead her to another. Just imagine the popular practice that a single girl who is pregnant will not receive Holy Communion. Let's look at it carefully. A young girl comes to you as a Priest and confesses that she had premarital sex and got pregnant (Sin 1) and that she aborted it (Sin 2). You absolve her and administer Holy Communion. A second girl comes and confesses that she had premarital sex and took in (Sin 1) but you refuse to administer the Holy Communion because she has not completed "Sin 2"  with that tommy she's brandishing. She must destroy the evidence first, like the first girl, before she can come to the table. Does it just make sense? Holy Communion is for practising Catholics - agreed. But do you people know that the Holy Communion can be administered even on a "practising Moslem" if the need arises? 😊 Let me tell you people something, right in this church, some people are just here to fulfill all righteousness of coming to church. Some are pressing their phones. Some are actually here physically but their minds are not here. Some are even planning evil right in this church while some are just looking at the shape of my nose and how black Fr Musa isπŸ˜€. There are more evil hearts out there than there are evil hands".

Take this quote to the bank - "There are more evil hearts out there than there are evil hands" - I credit this quote to Fr. Musa, I heard it for the first time from him.

So,  it's beginning to look to me like truly God is unchangeable. Only human beings are just changing their understanding of the Almighty God. A thought process goes into changes. You don't change the world by believing in the same things all through your life. That means you're "brain dead". You change the world by "careful thoughts and disruptions".

To God be the glory that people, including Priests are thinking!

Amen Amen
Amen Amen
Blessings and Glory
Wisdom Thanksgiving and Honor
Power and Might
Be unto our God
Forever and ever
Amen!!!

Have a beautiful week ahead.

I remain Sam
