Due to the increase in the cost of tomatoes in Nigeria currently, and with respect to the MMS (Man Must Survive) attitude of Nigerians, our Nigerian wives, have started turning to palm-fruits (popularly known as 'banga' or "akwu" in Igbo language) as an alternative.
The need to find an alternative can not be overemphasized as three balls of tomato now sell at an outrageous cost of NGN100.00.
This palm-fruit is used to prepare the famous banga soup which can be used to serve and eat several meals including but not limited to rice, yam, fufu, etc.
