IMPORTANCE OF INFORMATION

While growing up, on the few radio stations available then were numerous jingles that teach, caution, expose us to the dangers / benefits of some actions and the likes.
Can anyone who listen to radio in the 80s up to the 90s deny jingles that talks about reckless driving, how best we should handle our currency, examination malpractice, lateness to work, and all ?
There were many of them, it covers the nation, mainly undertaken by Radio Nigeria.
With the wider spread in terms of more stations, the government needs to explore the window of opportunity by looking at the challenges bedevilling the nation at the moment thus suicide bombing, corruption at all levels of government, reign of terror, gang wars and the effects on their immediate communities, hazard of hoarding fuel amongst several of issues.
I can attest to the fact that those short sermons helped in shaping the society.
Information ministry and National orientation agency need not battle over supremacy, as such will set the nation further aback, we need to put all hands on deck for the actualisation of a noble result.
Do we still have as many radio jingles as we used to have way back?
Does it touch all necessary ?
I am of the strong belief that, doing such and exploring other medium, will help to address some of the issues enumerated above.
Of special mention is suicide bombing, if a powerful short jingle is well put together and is being run in all stations (radio & television) chances are that, some would be suicide bombers might retrace their steps.
My view.
