9JA Churchmania

Gone are the days when we knew only the Roman Catholic church, the Anglican church and the Pentecostal church. The country was actually a better place then, my opinion though.

Presently, with the emergence of several "Living Churches" as they are popularly called and the increase in mundane practices in the country, some of these being perpetrated in some of these churches and or by the so called leaders of such churches, one begins to wonder where the world is headed.

Men of God, Pastors, Spiritual Teachers and so on, I used to believe were called and ordained by God himself.
However, in the present day, people now ordain themselves Pastors and Spiritual Counselors and where they get there calling from, I really cannot decipher.

A church is believed to be God's Holy Abode on earth, where believers go to feel the Presence of God and communicate with God, but presently, churches are located in hotels, in the market place, any available space that can accommodate the congregation.

The worship of God has been commercialized, a lot of deceit is being carried out and trust Nigerians, always looking for manna from Heaven, a lot have fallen victim to these preying Pastors who are just spreading their net to reel in human fishes to grow their congregation. The more the congregation, the more money flows in. Pastors are now being employed by humans, no longer ordained by God.

Really interesting.
When a young man decides to be lazy, makes no visible effort to better his life, it is either the Uncle in the village is after him or a friend or neighbor has tied his progress.
Do not misunderstand me, I acknowledge the fact that these things do happen, yes, but not as we are now made to believe.

Churches have been turned to Blogs with Niches to attract traffic. What are the problems of Nigerians? Ladies need husbands (Marriage) and when they get one, they need children (Fruit of The Womb), men need finances to take care of the family (Prosperity)....Lo and behold, church banners are everywhere displaying solutions to all kinds of problems each attracting its own crowd.

The teachings of the ethics of life, the difference between Good and Evil, the Do's and Don'ts are gradually fading away. We are now seeking other things especially riches before the Kingdom of God when it is supposed to be the other way round.

May God deliver us all as you feed your eyes below.
